Muddy mess as tsunami waves swallow homes, villages in Japan

Japan's NHK broadcast dramatic amateur video that captured the moment that Friday's tsunami ripped through residential areas across Miyagi prefecture. Residents of the Minami-sanriku Town took to elevated ground after a tsunami warning. They watched in horror as an enormous tidal wave swept through their town, uprooting trees, houses and carrying everything in its path. Many shouted and cried as the wave continued to advance, flattening homes and swelling into a mass of water.
