The Henri hit a rock and sank (17th century)

The Henri, East Indiaman, was coming back from Goa in the East Indies with a very rich cargo estimated at more than 500.000 Ecus. She hit a rock  in Lisbon river, went to pieces and sank without hope of salvage.

Amongst her cargo, many diamonds, pearls and other precious artefacts, as well as 30 big pearls valued at 15.000 £ each, to make a necklace for the Queen.
