On a voyage from Bristol to New York, the steamer City  of 1.700 tons was lost 180 miles of Newfoundland with a full cargo of merchandises including light goods, steel blooms, coal, wire...

In her hold, 750 tons of tin ingots representing today an approximate sum of US$ 15.000.000 in the metal market.
