Loss on a shoal of the Castle (19th century)
The Castle was a very fine ship, on her way from London to Australia with a large & valuable cargo, as well as wealthy passengers.
She was dashed to pieces in the Channel and sunk in deeper water. Portion of her cargo was salvaged on the coast a lot of property was lost.
