Shipwreck research and salvage in Malaysia
In Malaysia the shipwreck excavation license is issued by Museum department and the Port Master. As with most South East Asian countries, no foreign company can work in Malaysia without having a written Joint-Venture Agreement with a local Partner/Company. All licenses issued are in the name of the local company and the documentation is in Bahasa Malayu. The agreement is 70% for the salvage company and 30 % for the Malaysian Government. There is no deduction of project expenses in the sharing. |
