Canary Islands Review

Winter seems to be long to go away this year and we are all dreaming of warm and sunny holidays... Why not going to the Canary Islands, an all year round magical destination with a sunny climate that varies only slightly from month to month ?
The Canary Islands are basically an archipelago of volcanic origin which consist of seven islands and many other islets, situated in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Morocco and Western Sahara of Africa. They have obviously links to Africa, but they are also truly European orientated, as under the dominion of Spain.
Also named Fortunate Islands, Garden of the Hesperides or the Atlantide, by the Celtics, ancient Greeks or Romans, they offer you more than 500 beaches to relax, as well as a rich cultural heritage and music !
Maybe you would prefer to do some sports ? There is a choice of 15 golf courses. And the islands are the mecca for scuba diving and underwater photography. You will surely be able to meet the endangered Loggerhead Sea Turtle who took home in the rich waters of the archipelago.
Whether you want to go to Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote or Fuerteventura in which you will find the majority of visitors for the Canary Island Holidays, there is a few heading to La Palma, the northernmost island also referred to as "la Isla Bonita", owing to its great natural beauty. Canary Islands are blessed with rich flora and diverse fauna, and large variety of birds can be found here.
As the majority of the population comes from the Spanish, Portuguese and Italian immigration, you will feel a definite latin and hot ambiance, tourism being the primarily asset for the Canary Islands economy.
A definitely great next holiday destination to choose !
