Welcome Xavier !

Years ago, I spent some time in Cape Town, with the people who found the HMS Birkenhead... And many others such as the Colebrook. Great time in SA !!

The guys I met were the one of Aqua Exploration, Charlie Shapiro. They are now waiting for the authorization to work on the Brederode, a VOC lost with a lot of treasures on board... Smiley

The name rings a bell but I have not been with the guys in Cape Town for some time now (+- 15 years)as I was in west Africa Senegal, Ghana and Mauritania. Where is the Brederode situated? or is this confidential information and how long have they been waiting for the authorisation to salvage her. I know that there is one in Cape Town that is being looted while the guys are waiting for there authorisation to salvage it could be the same wreck.

The wreck is in deep water and need heavy and highly technical equipment to be excavated, so I don't think it is the one you are talking about...
