I have come across a silver bowl. Perfect half circle, pure silver. No markings. Approx 10 inches in diameter. It was found in the Eastern Caribbean in fairly shallow water. I was told it was from a 16th century wreck. The divers who found it also found cannon balls and cannons. I did not see those. Will post photo soon. Looking to find out info and appraisal. |

Nice piece...! Did you positively identify it as silver ? On the photo it looks like it could also be pewter... There are some members, in this forum, that might be of help, working mostly in the Caribbean. |

I just assumed it was silver but I will have it tested to verify. Thanks. |

Don't be disappointed if it's pewter... It is already a very nice artifact. Silver would have carvings, as the object on the photo is very simple. Maybe you can find additional artifacts on the site for identification. Size of the cannons, how many, iron or brass ? Etc... |

It is silver. Any help on obtaining more info or valuation is much appreciated. I am intersted in selling this piece but not before I have a good idea of the value and origin. Thanks! |
