Shipwrecks and Lost Treasures of the Seven Seas

In 1948 on a private beach in Highlands, New Jersey (USA. ( This beach is located on the west side of the river that runs between the Highlands and Sandy Hook. It is located North of the present bridge that runs from the Highlands to the Southern end of Sandy Hook.)
In 1948 the channel was being dredged in the river at that location and Gold Johannes were thrown up on the beach at that location.
A total of 28 Gold Johannes were picked up off the beach by local towns people that went on a treasure hunt once word of the find leaked out.

Research could be done on old copies of the local newspapers in which the account was published.
