Does any group/individual have current research data available about the 3 others vessels travelling with this vessel ? We are considering mounting a serious search for these vessesl in late 2009

Yes , the Flor do Mar ! This ship is one of the most sought after ships . Bob Marx wrote he found that ship and even offered artifacts recovered . This was all a sales pitch because these artifacts could never been dated nor could ever be established that they came from the Flor . My suggestion is to get a closer fix on : 1) the kingdom of Daru . 2) the river Pacem . Bob Marx produced a map that stated ,, Aqui seperdo Alphonso de Albuquerque ,, this ofcourse was a false lead to the spot of wrecking . Another remarcable thing happened . A chinese Junk coming from the wrecksite and loaded with some treasure , captained by Jorges Nunes de Leao , not steering the right course enterd the port of Aru . The Junk was robbed of it's content by the natives . Another name that is mentioned is the coastal area of Pasai . There were 10 ships taking part in campaign by the Portuguese . They were Flor do Mar , Trindade , Anunciada , Santo Antonio , Santa Cruz , Bretao , Taforeia, Enxobregas , Cambaia , Santa Caterina , Joia , Santiago and the Soa Joao . The ship that aided the Flor do Mar after it was wrecked was the Trinidade , captained by Pero de Alpoem . I my opinion only a strong financed salvage operation might have some success finding the Flor under yards of mud and sand . But ....never give up , the rewards will ne enormous . Cornelius

One remark I still want to make .( And it is an important remark ) . The search for the Flor do Mar should be first conducted ashore and not in the ocean . Cornelius

I shall study your comments closely indeed and again thank you for your information.
