Did you know there are more than 32 shipwrecks believed to be in and around Jervis Bay ?

Prominent maritime archaeologist Tim Smith will be at Huskisson on Wednesday, June 11 to discuss maritime history of the Jervis Bay area as part of the 2008 See Change Arts Festival.

The free information night will be hosted by the Jervis Bay Marine Park at 6.30pm at the Huskisson Community Hall, in Dent Street.

Jervis Bay Marine Park manager Leigh Harris said many people were unaware that over 30 ships had been wrecked at Jervis Bay or Wreck Bay.

“It will be a fascinating evening. Maritime archaeologist Tim Smith who works for the Department of Planning has worked on archaeological sites in Greece, Italy and Jordan.
